Lightheaded, Passing Out

I'm 20 weeks pregnant. I usually drink two to three sodas a day. Yesterday I went to the park with my boyfriend and our 13 month old son because there was an event going on. I kept hydrated all day with water. I started feeling bad about 30 minutes in, feeling as I was going to pass out but it got worse as the day went on. I was standing in line waiting to get food and it got to the point where I was next in line and wasn't able to order because I had to go sit down. I told my boyfriend that he's going to have to go get it because I need to sit down. He brings back food and a soda. I'm sitting there eating and still feel lightheaded so I take the soda and drink it all and then I felt completely fine. What could be wrong? I was hydrated all day with water so I couldn't have been dehydrated.

I would have blood sugar tested like others said but since you usually drink 2-3 a day it sounds like withdrawl symptoms. While you are pregnant you are more sensitive to a change and no soda earlier on your body could have panicked...just a thought...

Glucose level check! It's kind of too early to take a glucose test but you can still tell you doctor and he/she will check your blood sugar level. And slow down on the sodas please. Sodas have approximately 200 to 400 mg of sodium and about the same amount of sugar. Sodium is a water retaining element that's what gives you edema commonly known as swollen feet or hands. It's better to carry candy for when you feel light headed. Orange juice is good as well. But tell your doctor! Good luck.

This is my third pregnancy & I get hot flashes, lightheaded and get to the point where I pass out. This has happened throughout my previous pregnancys, my OB told me that it could be the increase in hormones/bloodflow or low iron or blood sugar. I drink plenty of water and eat super heathly. You should get your blood checked, it shouldn't be anyrhing too serious. I have two healthy toddlers & my pregnancy is going fine. (30 weeks)

That's exactly how I am. How many weeks are you now? Do you still get like that?

You might be low in iron. This happened to me often when I was around 20 weeks too. It kind of scared me because I had to sit down right away. When I went to the doctors they checked my blood, and I'm anemic. So definitely get it checked out.

This happens to me sometimes! I'm 19+4, but usually I get hot flashes before. I don't have ant complications, so I'm assuming it just happens

I would get your blood sugar checked. It may be normal though because i get low blood sugar easily during pregnancy. Sometimes the food doesnt work quick enough, so apple juice or something like soda helps a lot quicker. It still wouldnt hurt to ask yr OB about it though.
