MRI does not use any radiation, it's magnetic imaging, using strong magnetic fields.  When imaging is needed U/S is the top choice, but it often does not have the views of large areas needed.  MRI has been used in many pregnancies, and your OB would decide with you whether or not to have one at this time.  It is different if you need an MRI with contrast dye, that would need to be out off until after the baby is born.

I have a brain tumor and am also pregnant. I do routine MRIs to watch the tumor growth. However, I had to plan this pregnancy to happen within a time frame I could best avoid the MRIs. So if all goes well I get a baby in June and MRI and possible radiation or surgery I'm July. Definitely not safe during pregnancy.

It has much more than xrays. They usually ask u if u r pregnant or may be pregnant before they do it bc its very dangerous for your baby.
