Maternity leave?!

when did you take your maternity leave? My whole pregnancy I said I would work till the day of and I know a lot of women do! But man, just hit the 36 week mark and I had to call off work today! I do work in a warehouse 11 hours a day though, 3:30pm till 3am. I know it's also good to leave work my sister said she said the same thing, work until the day of but she couldn't, she took leave at 37 weeks and had the baby a week later! I really just want to have my paid maternity leave with her since I only get two weeks paid. That's another question!!! Two weeks paid!? I mean I'm blessed to have that but I do still feel like that's not very much.

I guess I'm grateful to live in Ontario its 16 weeks paid mat leave and the rest is paid parental leave ,so either mom or dad can take it but I will deffiently be taking all 52 weeks

Took mine at 35.5 weeks. No paid maternity at all for me.

Im planning on finishing at 37 weeks too i was going to try and work till the end but im feeling it now its hard work and more tiring not just that we need alil rest before baby comes

I was going to work up until 38 weeks, but at 36 I got extremely sick and couldn't go back into work for a few days anyways and they told me to just take it early and rest, which I totally needed! I kept getting sick and was pushing myself too much. I'm 37 weeks now and been laid out with laryngitis, sinus infection, and pink eye for the past 4 days.  I'm taking 10-12 weeks maternity leave, all unpaid.

I worked up until 38.5 weeks pregnant :)
