Measuring small, should I be worried???

So I went in for my monthly check up this morning. I get ultrasounds at every appointment due to pre-existing high blood pressure. Well the doctor tells me that my baby's head and stomach are measuring small in gestansional (sp?) age compared to her femur bone, and also that my amniotic fluid levels seem a little low. So I have to go to the hospital next week for a better ultrasound and genetic counsling. I am trying not to stress out, but I am so scared right now. Has anyone gone through this that can give me some words of wisdom or console me a little???

Beeker6 - I have existing high blood pressure since before I was pregnant, but it has been under control with medication. My doctor doesn't seem to think that is the issue. I will be 24 weeks on Saturday.  The rest of the baby is measuring right, just her head and her belly are small compared to her femur. I have to wait a whole week before they could get me in the hospital for a better ultrasound :(

I had pre-eclampsia and HELLP syndrome with my daughter.  She was born at 33 weeks and was only 2 lbs 12 oz and was the size of a 26 weeker.  How is your bp now?  That could be affecting the growth of your baby.  She is still skinny but perfectly healthy at 6.5 years.  How many weeks are you?

Try not to worry too much, my son had IUGR or Intrauterine Growth Retardation and measured a month behind consistantly.   my mom had the same issues with all 4 of us me and my 3 brothers. All of us came out fine.

We were all preemies tho anywhere between 2 and 6 weeks. but I was the only one in the NICU. Now my son has Down Syndrome, I happen to be that 1/1000 who had a baby with it. I'm 22 yrs old. Don't worry too much K? I'm not writing this to scare you only to tell you what my experience (and my mom's) was.
