i was on the depo for about 5 years.. it's a terrible shot. when i got off it i had really really weird periods for about a yr and a half. i got my period, but it didnt stop for about 4 months. then it was gone for 2 and the doc gave me provera to start it back up (which didnt work) so i had to wait about another week until it started. it turned out i had endometriosis and the shot was hiding it because endometriosis grows when u have a period and my periods were so light that it really didnt effect it.
my sister in law went throught he same thing, too. she was on depo for a long time and didnt start her period for almost 2 years afterwards. she doesnt have anything wrong with her or anything, it just took her body an extra long time to get back to normal because the shot threw her hormones all out of whack.
i'd have ur doc check ur hormones and see if theyre just messed up or something? i had surgery to find out if i had endometriosis, so i'd leave that til last to look into..
