Lactating

I'm 27+1 with my first baby, and my plan is to breastfeed. I've not started leaking or anything yet, and it's starting to worry me that I won't be able to breastfeed! Is it usual to be this late in lactating? Thanks in advance!

I'm about to be 36 weeks and still barely leak. Never needed pads or anything only when I squeeze and even then sometimes it doesn't. I've been reassured by my Dr that once baby is here my body will know what to do and provide enough for my son:)

This is different for every woman. There are some women who never leak any fluids during pregnancy, but this does not mean that it is not there. What you produce during pregnancy is called Colostrum, it is a very nutrient rich liquid that will be full of great antibodies and vitamins for your baby. You will begin to produce milk instead of colostrum about 24-48 hrs after giving birth. Don't panic! Like I said, just because you aren't leaking, doesn't mean it isn't there. (:
