Might be TMI but it hurts to have sex... why?

I found out I was pregnant about a week and a half ago and the last few days it has hurt to have sex. Its like when he inserts it starts burning and feels like something is ripping my skin apart. Neither of us has been having sex with anyone else so I don't think its an std or anything like that. I heard that it could be from all the increase blood and sensitivity down there. I'm really annoyed though because I like to have sex a couple times a day and with my last pregnancy I didn't want sex at all. Now I want sex all the time and it hurts? Karma? Is this normal or am I broken?

it could be normal or it could be a problem...i would ask your doctor about your symptoms..it could be a vaginal infection or a uti, sometimes these can cause painful sex. but it could very well also be because your pregnant and just sensitive..just remember every pregnancy is so different and you'll realize that more and more!! good luck!

I had the same problem during my first trimester (15 weeks now).  Hormonal changes can cause you to dry out down there causing pain, and my cervix was extra sensitive way up there because of the increased blood flow.  But, it is better to be safe then sorry so ask your doctor at your next appointment.  Best of luck to you

I actually had vaganitis and a UTI when I first found out I was pregnant (actually one of the ways I did find out I was pregnant since I went to the hospital). I finished the antibiotics for the first and am almost done with them for the second. I have no idea why this is happening. I blame the nuvaring first and foremost. Ugh... I just want to feel perfect again. No bronchitis, no UTI, no hurt vagina and no morning sickness. I just cannot get a break.

It's normal and it can pass! I would agree that you might have an infection of some kind and may want to bring that up at your next prenatal visit!!!

I had the same problem during my first trimester. It hurt so bad, like you said it was a burning feeling.  It passed for  a few months.  And then just came back a week ago, Im currently 28 weeks. So I dont know I think its pregnancy related.  But it wouldnt hurt to ask your doctor about it... Good luck and I hope you can get back to yourself soon

I have the same problem. I had Bacteria Vaginosis and have had that treated thought it would take care of the burning feeling during sex, but it didn't. I will be asking my Dr about it when I see him again in two weeks. I feel bad because I want to have sex with my BF but it hurts to much.
