Milk Craving??

I have been experiencing for the past two weeks a flu like feeling on and off, as if I'm about to get the flu, but never do.. the feeling just goes away..It's a sore achy shivery feeling that comes for about ten minutes, and then just disappears..  I also feel that PMSy feeling when you just suddenly get really emotional and want to cry that overtakes you for literally about a minute.. and now the past few days I have really wanted sugary milk... not chocolate milk, but sugar in my milk.  I don't usually drink milk unless it's with pancakes, which I don't often eat. For the past week I have been getting continuous headaches also. My next problem is that a lot has gone on in the past few months and I honestly could not say when I last had my period, but I know I had it last month, and counting what my normal cycle is, I should have started on the 6th, it now being the 17th, I've become a little concerned.  What could be going on?

I really don't want to get my hopes up about this because I have sort of settled into the glass-is-"won't ever get pregnant"-half-empty view.

Is this just a weird dietary problem for me?

halfjapanese- thanks for your input! This post, however, is very old. I'm not sure that person visits this forum anymore either.

This sounds a whole lot like hypothyroidism.  A similar thing happened to me last summer.  I was six weeks late with two negative pregnancy tests, yet I had all the symptoms of being pregnant:  I was moody; I often felt depressed or unmotivated and without any reasons to; I craved sweets; I had cramps and backaches, my face and back were breaking out; I was gaining weight; I had restless leg syndrome and increased instances of tinitus.  Everything on the internet said these things could all be symptoms of pregnancy.  I went to my ObGyn and she ran a full hormone test.  Results:  under functioning thyroid (which controls the hormones).  I started taking a low dosage of thyroid medicines and a week later my period came.  After two more weeks later (the meds take a while to start taking effect), I no longer felt depressed.  The weight didn't come off, even with the meds.  More hormone tests showed I have insulin resistance, too.

I would see if a doctor could run a test to check your thyroid.

Sounds, to me, like you have a vitamin deficiency.  I would make an appt. with your GP.
