Miscarriage Concerns ?!?!

I was sitting on the toilet trying to have a bowel movement and i felt a sensation to push so i did and the next thing i know my water broke, followed by blood. I rushed to the hospital and had to push her out i also had to have a D&C. I want to have another baby but i'm torn up about this because I was perfectly healthy and I still don't know what could have caused this miscarrage especially being halfway through my pregnancy. Any answers or advice?

I had this happen out of four of my five pregnancies. They can monitor you closely through ultrasound and measure your cervical length to makes sure if you need an cerclage put in to have a healthy full term pregnancy. I would ask for a referral for an obstetrician.

They can't tell in you're first trimester or even In the beginning of the second (not until 16) weeks BC that's when changes would start happening to you're cervix. Also unless they are measuring you're cervix with ultrasound they won't know if there is funneling or shortening. If they do an exam they might be able to tell if you are actually already dilating. And yes I'm very high risk.. I already lost two babies in my second trimester.

Its when you're cervix is incompetent- doesn't function correctly or the way its supposed to... it happenes in you're second trimester when the baby starts getting a little bigger usually between 17-23 weeks. The cervix can't hold the weight of the baby and you begin dilating without any symptoms. So eventually one day you're menbranes come out or youre water breaks and you have the baby. Sometimes it can be caught in time and you can get a. Wmergen y cerclage.. but most of the time women end up loosing their babies.  Its actually more common than you would think and most women don't even know what it is until it happens to them... its a horrible thing to have..

I was hoping for a L&D but they started it off but nothing was happening so they changed it to d&c. Worst feeling in the world!! Good luck in your pregnancy.

I lost my first baby due to incompetent cervix. I was almost 20 weeks.. I went to the bathroom and when I pushed my membranes came out. Had to go to l&d and deliver my baby boy.. hardest and most traumatizing things I've ever been through.. this is my third pregnancy.. lost my second baby during my second trimester also.. and I got a cerclage placed this time.. things are going well now and I'm going to have a baby girl.
