chantal21,
Thank you for letting me know you have trouble finding the heartbeat sometimes too. I tried not to worry about it, but couldn't help but to worry a little. :0)
jenkaye21,
I got mine at Wal-Mart. I think it's made by Graco (will have to double check that when I get home through). It was only $23 and well worth the money!
AMINOHIO, I found it the first time, then tried again this morning and I couldn't find it. Waited a few hours and tried again and I found it. It will be hit or miss. I just try not to freak out when I can't find it! ;)
jen, Mine is from Stork Radio, they are a bit pricy, but I think I have the cheapest one from their site. Started out renting it for 3 months and then just bought it. I'm sure you could also find some similar ones on ebay for a good price. I have the: Fetal Doppler with 3 MgHz Probe.
Oh wow, you make me wanna go out and buy one. What brand do you have??
I resisted the temptation to buy one with my other four pregnancies, but this is my last and I'm gonna go all out! ;+)
I just found my little bean's heartbeat the other night at about 8wks as well. Tried again last night, but couldn't find it. I figure it will be hit or miss until later in the pregnancy.
That's awesome Malia! :) Some people think I am crazy, but I am glad to know I am not. haha :)
I heard it at about 9 weeks with both children. :)
It's good to know others found it early on as well! :)
Tabitha, I am feeling pretty good. This morning sickness is so weird. Some mornings I know as soon as I get out of bed I am going to throw up, but then this morning, I felt great and didn't even feel nauseous so I drank some water. Then I was doing my hair, and WAM, I just vomited out of no where!! It's so strange. lol
Nicole, yes, huge weight off my shoulders!! Since I heard the heart beat, I decided not to get my HCG levels checked today and just had the prenatal screening done instead.
My midwife wants to see me again next week for another U/S to check on growth and just to be sure all is going well.
I found mine at 8 weeks and 3 days.
10 weeks and congrats on hearing the hb I know that must have been a huge weight off your shoulders!
I think my earliest was about 9 weeks. Generally by 10- 12 weeks they say it may be possible to hear it:) Its such sweet music!! Im so glad you got some reassurance Chantal!!! How are you feeling???
For me, with first it was around 11.5weeks, with second about the same...My midwife tried to do it at 8 weeks and she didn't find anything. It was too early
I found the hb around 8 weeks as well. My dr. didn't believe me- but i brought the doppler to show her and I was correct.
I didn't try myself, but my midwife didn't try till 16+4 that's the first time I heard it, I bought my own n it's a right load of rubbish doesn't pick it up n can't return it :(
Congrats on hearing it already! It isn't crazy at all. Some people might say it isn't possible but that is a load of you know what. It is pretty amazing you can hear it when the baby is so tiny.
My midwife couldn't pick our baby up at 12 weeks...I had to go back at 14 weeks and there it was. I admit I was very nervous and sad I couldn't hear the baby at 12 weeks. But, after that experience I know not to freak out when you can't find it right away.
