Miscarriage

What is the longest amount of time someone has bled after a miscarriage?  I was told I was miscarrying in mid July.  I am still bleeding heavily right now.  I saw one doctor who said it was normal and then a couple of days ago decided that it was an ectopic.  I sought a second opinion from another obgyn and she said I wasn't ectopic.  I am not sure who to believe.  My first doctor gave me some methothexate last week.  I was suppose to take 17 pills in one pop and another 17 two hours later.  If it didnt work I was gonna have to do it again.  My new doctor who I started seeing saturday said to throw it away.  I have been bleeding for so long now.  I don't know what is wrong with me.  If it is a miscarriage why is it still happening?  If it is an ectopic why dont I have any of the classic symptoms?  Should I have taken the pills?

I had a miscarrige three years ago and bled very heavy for 46 days straight, then bled like a normal period for another 22 days.....I was checked weekly the entire time, and my blood loss wasn't too bad acording to them, but I soaked a super pad in less than 2 hours for the first 46 days.     I wish you lots of luck, it's really hard!

I bled 2 and a half weeks and bled so heavy that just pulling my pants down to sit on the toilet I would bleed down my legs and onto the floor. Sorry if it's TMI. When you have a m/c every day of bleeding seems like an eternity bc it's so emotionally painful. I'm so very sorry for your loss. Maybe get a third opinion to see which of the two prior drs were right?  Wish I had better or more info for you.

You poor girl. I had an ectopic pregnancy back in May. I bled for about 3 weeks or so AFTER I found out. It did taper off and get lighter. A few days after I stopped bleeding, I got my period. So it did seem like I was bleeding forever. Now, as far as taking 17 pills, then 17 more after 2 hours, I have not heard of that. I did do the methotrexate shot. I had 2 shots at the same time because that is what I needed for my weight. I did not need another shot. Methotrexate is a serious thing and I don't think I would feel comfortable taking 34 pills in one day.

What did your new dr say about taking care of this situation? Did they do an ultrasound to see what is happening? Is this a regular dr you are seeing or an ob/gyn? Which dr do you trust more? That is the one I would listen to. Often your body and your heart knows best and knows the right answers. Let me know if I can help any further.

The pills are probably causing you to bleed more. I am pretty sure you're NOT meant to take 17 thats dangerous. One yes... But basically 34 pills in the space of 2 hrs thats like an overdose.

Everyone is different with bleeding, I bled for 2 days and then got pregnant again the same week. Everyone is different. The best thing to do is just go back to the docs.... and say you're still bleeding are you 100% you miscarried.

If so, I am sorry for your loss.

xx
