From my reading of baby books they use reglan in the most severe cases where you can't keep anything down. I work in pharmacy and we do not have declectin...so maybe it is outside the country. Zofran and promethazine are some of the drugs of choice here and are safe...otherwise I wouldn't be taking them! I hope your morning sickness gets better soon. I know that mine has been so bad that I have lost 10 pounds in 10 weeks. We will get there soon!
I also had horrible morning sickness all day everyday for the first 6 months then i was actually able to keep food down but all thx to zofran... it is very safe and it works miracles... i heard something about reglan causing some side effects so i would def do some research... but just to be sure i would def get zofran instead...
There is only 1 prescription medication that is 100% safe to take during pregnancy for morning sickness & it is diclectin. The good news is morning sickness usually goes away around weeks 12-14 so fingers crossed it does for u. With my last pregnancy & this current 1 I've had severe nausea right from the beginning around 6 weeks right uop til delivery. It's VERY hard to keep anything down, but no matter what u have to keep trying. Make meals smaller, more frequent, less heavy & bland. Avoid foods when it's hot, as this will aggravate it as well. I found koolaid lemon lime slushies helped me get some calories as I was unable to even keep water down at some points.
I'd mention diclectin to ur Dr & see what he says.
Good luck & I hope you get some relief soon. Please post an update when u have news. If you want more info on diclectin or morning sickness feel free to message me.
