I know what you are saying...when I had my little girl I named her Tailyn Jade.   I heard all sorts of comments of things from....black name to great career as a pole dancer.   People can be so rude and so dumb.   I love the name Jayden, in fact..I have a little boy named Kaden and I only didn't name him Jayden because my daughters middle name was Jade.   Oh and I am white too, so I don't get the whole race thing.    I work with a hispanic girl and her nephews names are Jayden and Joshua...so I guess they didn't get the memo either on what color they were supposed to be :).  Love the name...Stick with it!

The porn start comment is funny, I was told the same thing, my name is Alexandria. Everyone told me that naming my daughter Decorah would make people think she is black when she turns in applications or paperwork where they only see her name not her face. I don't understand why it matters what race they think she might be... When we was going thru names my oh liked tyler.. i wasnt sure on it 100% but my mum said "o you cant call him that its such a black name" i was like... I know about 6 Jayden's & they are all white. Both boys & girls. I hate when someone says I need a white, black, mexican name. It's racist no matter who is saying it. My middle name is Lashea & my husband has my first & middle name down his forearms & he gets Is your wife black? a lot. So what if I was? I am clearly a very pale white person, with blonde hair & green eyes & we have a 9yo daughter together who has blonde hair & blue eyes. I agree that with certain names you can tell a persons race. Like ive never met a white british girl called shaniqua... Or a black man named fred.. But it should not matter in todays world.. if you can vision your son called jaydon for rest of your life then name him it.. Its yours and your ohs choice xx

I think it also depends on where you live and what's popular.. I don't know about jayden being "almost exclusively" a white name. Where I'm from a lot of blacks or Mexicans have this name not really white people..

Well,  a lot of names DO go by race.  About half the time you can look at a name and know what race/ethnicity the person is,  about half the time it's a name that crosses racial/ethnic lines.  

There are certainly some names that are clearly white,  clearly black,  clearly Indian,  clearly asian,  etc.  

Interestingly,    I'd say Jayden is almost exclusively a white name,  and a very recent name - Jaydens are 5 years old and younger.

Who cares what other people think about the name. If you like it, then that's all that matters. You usually find that when people say things like that, it's either because they're jealous and like the name themselves and so don't want anyone else to have it, or they just like to be miserable and be horrible to other people.

Ignore then, if you like the name then so be it.
