Mucus Plug?

I'm 39W4D pregnant, and last night DH and I BD'ed, to see if we could get things rolling. Afterwards I went to pee (like my doctor instructed me to do to avoid infection at the end of my pregnancy) I wiped and it was pink, then red, then pink again, I spotted for about an fourty five minutes to an hour, and everytime I went to the bathroom I lost a little bit of my mucus plug, which was almost completely pink. My question is, was the spotting/bleeding from having sex, or was it from losing part of my mucus plug? I've never spotted during/after sex before, and I've BD'ed just as much as I normally do before I got pregnant, so this is new to me, any advice??

Both and as much as you can stand then take a walk. I ate a huge tin of it and took a walk and a few hours later my water broke! Good luck!

I went for another walk tonight, still having some minor contractions, nothing major though, I'm going to BD tonight too, so maybe something will happen after that! I'm going to go for a few walks a day until SOMETHING happens, if anything I'll hopefully be dilated/effaced more for my next appt.

This is my first pregnancy so i haven't had a show before and am waiting for mine to come. My ob told me to call birth suite (i think you call it L&D) when i think the show has happened and said i should only be concerned if it is bright blood. After reading people's posts, i am wondering if he klnow what he is talking about! Good luck :0)

Yup it sure sounds like it! When I had the bloody show I had red and pink mucus all day long. Didn't go into labor until 2 weeks later, but in your case, I hope it's soon!! =) Walk walk walk. Keep yourself busy and baby will be here before you know it.

I've never experienced any bleeding or spotting or loss of mucus plug before labor begins, but it is definitely a sign!  Good luck!  It shouldn't be long!

Crampiness could be a great sign. I'd go for a walk, walk up and down some stairs, bounce gently on an exercise ball, etc. to keep that crampiness going and hopefully intensify it them into true labor cramps.

Joy - I hope so, the only thing is I haven't had it since, just a little bit of pink after last night, and then everything stopped, except a little bit of crampiness today. We'll see how tonight goes I guess!

I have no advice because I ended up with a c-section after non-progressive labor...so all I wanted to do was wish you luck Kimberlee!!!

Best wishes on a quick delivery and a healthy baby!!!! You are almost there!
