NICU info

Ladies it seems many of you think a baby will end up or not end up in NICU depending on weight or what week they are born. That is not the case! It is solely dependent upon if the baby has issues that require extra help or not. 40 week babies can need a NICU stay. Just a little information for all you expecting mommies! Good luck to all of you :)

I know she did that's why i didn't write back ,but i guess °chantel° thinks I'm saying this bc of mommy-Daddy2 and its not bc of her its some else that asked about how to star labor and i told her not to bc the baby might stay in the nicu

Yes your right. Weight and gestation mean nothing in a way as any baby can end up in nicu but obviously the lady trying to jump start her labour 3weeks early WILL go to nicu as do any other preterm babies. I totally agree it is ridiculous to try have your baby early (not that you can itl come when it wants) as I had my son at 23weeks. I would do anything to change that and wish with all my heart he came into the world healthy when he was ment to at 40weeks.

Shaparrittamedina I believe that Mommy_Daddy_2 was agreeing with you. That's why people were confused as to why you were cussing. I think most people understand why you shouldn't try to bring on labor before the baby is ready.

As I stated to you in the other post I had a NICU baby and was just stating that the weeks/weight mean nothing and that I agreed it was unnecessary to try to have your baby early. So no it wasn't directed at you since you are not the only one who said something about NICU. My son came at 35 weeks not by my choice and I wish he would've been able to stay in until 40 weeks. So yes I'm one of those moms that wish my baby would've stayed in longer.

If ur saying this bc of what i said earlier, my point was why the **** would ur risk ur baby let it come when ever the baby wants to come out its like telling people yeah star doing things for ur baby to come that is so ******* stupid other ladys wish there babys have stayed in there for a lil bit longer and the ones that can have them the whole 40 weeks want them out ,didn't u read what she said she wanted to star her labor a 37 weeks i just told her what could happen

I had my daughter at 39 weeks weighing 7lb 15oz and had to stay in the nicu for 10 days. A friend of mine had her daughter at 35 weeks weighing 5lb even and got to take her home the next day. It absolutely depends on the baby.
