Sperm do not die soon after contact in air. In proper conditions they are viable for several hours. My urologist told me that in typical conditions, they will usually last 30 minutes through an hour.

However, your friends do not seem to know what they are doing. A q-tip will not work. They need to see a doctor and take the donor (who will also need to consent as well as sign away all rights) and have IUI done.

It will not work. The sperms chance of surviving before reaching the egg is slim....When men ejaculate they shoot out millions of sperm. Using a qtip will ruin the sperm cells and like ^^said they will die.

yep you have to get it in there pretty quick, turkey basters, syringes etc, but the best way would be to try and do it the old fashioned way ( I know, but some lesbians can do it) so they know exactly when they are ovulating so it only has to be done once :)

I have never heard of that nor do I think that would work as the sperm would dry up and die within seconds. One thing I have heard of is lesbian couples using turkey basters but again, its a tough call as sperm die's quickly in air.
