I am 13 weeks and haven't bought a single thing. I'm very excited but my family keeps telling me not to buy anything yet because I'll get a lot of stuff at my shower.

I miscarried with my very first one back in 2005 so when I got pregnant again I was very scared so I didn't buy anything or tell anyone till I was past 12 wks then I got excited and told everyone and started buying stuff. I have 2 kids and an pregnant with my third now and I still do the same thing with each pregnancy I don't buy or say anything because of the fear of miscarriage. It's totally up to you though. For me I've been though a mmiscarriage and it was very hard on me it would have been harder if I had already bought items for the baby. The one thing that made it so hard was seeing my baby's heartbeat and then going back 4 wks later to there not being one. I'm not trying to scare you but just wanted to give my opinion. Best of luck to you and your baby

Everyone is different but me personally just couldn't wait lol I even bought some gender neutral clothes before I was even pregnant, me and my hubby started trying and I was so exited that I bought a few little things :) you start buying whenever you like, there's no set time :)

I disagree with all these answer. I know there is a chance for miscarriage but there is also chances for still borns. I don't believe in acting like something might happen when you really don't know. I believe you should be happy and excited and have the mind set that you and your baby will be perfect. I started buying stuff right away. I bought the changing table, bottles, and the swing by the time I was 13 weeks. And now I'm 19+1 and I've got some clothes and the crib. I buy stuff as I can. And I've been doing it since I found out at 4 weeks.

I started buying wipes a box of wipes and a box of diapers(various sizes) every week; rotating week by week before i knew what i was having at like 14ish weeks bc my husband got a good job then. It really depends on you honestly. Oh and when clothes go on sale you should buy 'em like stock up. Im due in july and in about march/april when all the winter clothes went on sale we bought clothes abput tue size he would be in winter and fall bc theyre super cheap and you wont have to try n buy them when they come back out same with summer clothes. Just a way to save some money

I didn't because of the risk of miscarriage. Everyone is different. I would wait until you are at least 12 weeks.
