Need advice on fetal movement.....

I am currently 18 weeks pregnant with my first children (twins). Up to this point I do not think I have felt them move. The last few days though I have been feeling "something" under both of my ribs. I am not sure if this is the babies or not because I really dont know what it is supposed to feel like. Right now, about an hour after lunch I keep feeling a brushing on my right side when I put my hand on my stomach. Do you think this could be the baby? I'm very anxious to feel the baby movement and am getting a little worried that I haven't felt anything yet. The brushing feeling continues - do you think this little guy/girl could be doing summersaults in there? Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated. What was your first fetal movement experience like?

For most first time parents it can be up to 22 weeks before they feel movement, mostly because you don't know what to expect or what it feels like when the baby(ies) is/are moving. The brushing you are feeling could very well be movement. With both of my pregnancies it felt more like a bubble popped inside me. It was a quick poke type feeling. Almost like when you feel a gas bubble. You'll start to be able to tell the difference between different feelings soon. I'm not sure if carrying twins means you'll feel it earlier being your first pregnancy, but you should start feeling something in the next few weeks, if the brushing isn't them.

I am on my second pregnancy! This time with twins I am 17 weeks and I have not felt my babies move yet. I dont want to sound paranoid but its starting to worry me. Would their be any reason I might not be feeling them move yet.?

              Thank you, Amanda

Thank you so much ladies for your help! Yes it is about an inch below my ribs where I feel something and it's when I sit and rest for a bit. I have just been putting it off as gas haha. I guess I am starting to be able to feel them move around in there! How exciting!

I always felt my baby(ies) move right after I ate.  At first it felt like fluttering.  I am sure that is what you feel!  It's so exciting in the beginning, but it starts to hurt as they get bigger!  Oh the joy!!

I'm 17 weeks in my third pregnancy and I have been feeling it for a couple weeks now but the last few days I have been getting some very strong kicks.... Your uterus will not be that high yet it should be around your belly button
