Factual Friday

I didn't see the usual "Fun Fact Friday?" Where you at Msgorgeous? Hope all is well!!?? =)

So, I decided to start this thread..

If you are pregnant - What is (or are) some of the thing(s) about pregnancy, enjoyable and NOT enjoyable that you wish some one had told you about or that you have have come across that you totally didn't expect?

For me, I wish someone would have REALLY been honest about how uncomfortable pregnancy is. I wish they would have told me I am going to laugh or sneeze and pi$$ myself..That I am going to have gas, constipation, and/or diareah. That throwing up becomes as normal in the first trimester as brushing your teeth or taking a shower...I also wish I had a heads up on all the baby products.. Wooo.. OVERWHELMING for a first time parent. I was also shocked at how big I got and how fast.. And the emotions.. Wooo.. even if someone had told me I would turn this hormonally crazy, I would NOT have believed them!! What a rollercoaster of emotions!! On the up side, I don;t think I could have had anyone describe to me in any way that I could fathom until I experienced it, how wonderful the ultrasounds are, and hearing my son's heartbeat. How I well up with pride and anticipation as my son kicks me.. There are many upsides! I don't mean to be a total "Debbie Downer!!"

If  you are ttc - What are some of the challenges and facts that you have learned on your journey? I understand ttc takes an emotional toll and am thinking that you must learn SOO many things about conception and reproduction. I just thought I would ask here what some of those things are? I want to understand ttc better so I can be supportive of those trying..

I hope that doesn't offend! Like I mentioned, I DO understand it has to be emotional, so if the TTC'ers don't feel comfortable sharing, I totally understand!

Happy weekend ladies!!

((hugs!))

Pregnant here (posting late, but thought it was interesting) -

Con - Not being able to take meds when sick!  I didn't realize how much I missed medication until I have head a head cold and flu virus the past 2 weeks and haven't been able to take anything!  I have been lucky though and have had a good/easy pregnancy.
Pro - I love feeling my baby move all the time!  Bring on the punches and kicks!

Con: I didn't realize that I would go through an awkward stage...I thought you just got one of those cute little baby bumps...I've got this thickened waist, pudgy belly look and it is not very attractive lol

Pro: I also didn't realize how much an ultrasound or a heartbeat would ever mean to me.

Laura ~  Just wait till you get to labor!  :)  When your so uncomfortable you'll have never been so happy in your life to be in soooo much pain!

For me, the only thing I could complain about and I think my doctor even told me about this...With my son, he decided to be 1 of the 5% of babies who would literally be engaged the entire pregnancy and sit on my oh so dialated cervix the entire time.  The entire time, I had so much pressure, and peeing every 5 minutes not cool.  I mean my daughter dropped 3 weeks before she was born, and my son never had to drop!  LOL  I wish he would have raised because it killed my hips.  In the last 3 weeks when I was prego with him, every hour on the dot I was having to wait up to roll over, my hips would pop back in joint and the other would dislocate.  You'd have to experience it to understand how horrible it was!

So far with this one, nothing like it.  But hoping it stays "normal"...lol

Oh and a funny thing, I tried to warn my SIL about how uncomfortable it was, and they laughed and said they wouldn't be uncomfortable, and I have been so far laughing at them because their complaining!

And then to top it off, my sister who has her son before me..LOL  this always makes me laugh...  She told me I had no idea how much labor hurt, so when I had my daughter and she showed I...I HAD to rub it in her face on how much SHE didn't know how much it hurt.  LOL  I have had two natural childbirths and I can tell you it's not nearly as painful as my herniated discs!!!  All she did was roll her eyes.  Cause with her son she had two epidurals, she is a wimp though!  And was/is a drug addict....  Anywho- if you ever see me post that labor doesn't hurt, it's because i'm in far more agaony from my back...  L4 & L5 herniated disc, so more pressure on those in labor!!  That's right where they put the needle for your epidural too, just a fyi!
