New pregnancy - mild twinge?

I found out two days ago that I am pregnant! (First baby and have been trying for two years so absolutely thrilled to bits as I was told I needed IVF as my left tube is blocked!!).
My period is due right about now and i'm having very mild cramping every now and then, panicked me a bit as I keep thinking I am coming on!! Also getting occasionally mild twinging pain in right hand side (my tube which is NOT blocked) - bit like ovulation, which scared me a bit, it's not agonising, just very mild and occasional.  I am only 2/3 weeks along.  Is this normal? I do have IBS and get alot of wind so not sure if it's due to that too.  I just want everything to go smoothly :-)

You're probably right, it's probably just my normal mild period cramps that I get... as long as the bleeding doesn't follow, all is good! Lol

Try not to worrry. :) I'm sure everything is fine. Enjoy being pregnant. It's a wonderful thing to finally get something after trying for so long.

Thanks for that.  I've just wanted this for so long I don't want anything to go wrong.

If it was Ectopic, it would progressively get worse as you get farther on. I believe at this point it would be too early to tell, but they'll check that when you get your first ultrasound in a few weeks.

Thank you very much.  I also noticed that the glands/lymph nodes around the right side are up as well, very lumpy and bumpy lol.  I just freaked myself out a bit - I'm a nurse which is possibly the worst job ever to do because ever little problem you think the worst!! And started worrying it could be an eptopic pregnancy, but I'm guessing not?

What you have described sounds very normal to me.  It is completely normal to have mild cramping in early pregnancy as your uterus grows and stretches.  As for the twinges on the side...since that is your "good" tube, it stands to reason this was the side you ovulated from when you got pregnant.  This makes me believe that you are probably feeling a corpus luteum cyst.  This too is very normal.  When your body releases the egg, sometimes a cyst forms on the follicle that erupted.  It can cause mild to moderate pain (rarely it can get really large and very painful) but almost always resolves itself and disappears by the end of the first trimester.

Just mention it to your doc when you have your first appt and see what s/he says about it.

BTW congratulations.
