No Heat Beat.......

the doctors think?  I will try to explain this as best as I can.  Had my ultrasound yesterday (Friday).  The ultraound tech could NOT even see the baby with the viginal probe.  She said there was a shadow or something blocking my uterus.  Basically she said she could not reach it for some reason.  So we did the stomach ultraound.  Baby was seen but not real good.  There was NO heart beat that was seen.  She said baby was measuing the same as it was 4 days before that.  She said she not jumping to conclusions because you can't see much the the stomach ultraound this early in pregnancy.  I could not see a thing.  Weird because i saw more 4 days ago?   The doctor came in and talked to us.  She said I had a 60% chance of miscarrying.  So a 40% chance everything will be fine.  I had an HCG blood test done and have another to do early Monday morning.  Then I have another ultrasound Tuesday.  My doctor said she is going to forget about the ultrasound I had done Friday and is going to compare the one I had done Monday to the one I will have done this Tuesday.  I don't know what to think.  I still have all the symptoms of being pregnant.  No bleeding and No cramps.  I just can't stand having to wait again to see if my baby is still alive.  This is so devestating to me.  I've been through a miscarriage before and don't wanna go through another.  I already told all my friends and family....even my 5 yr old.

Hi Jess, I'm in the same situation as you. My baby is measuring 6 weeks and has a slow heart beat. I am supposed to be 8 weeks. I go back for a scan this Thursday. However, I was told there was no hope. Yet I was saying to my husband before reading your message that my gut instinct says 40% everything will be fine. Your doctor said that to you, so now I'm even more hopeful. Apparently if it doesn't grow at all in a whole week then the pregnancy is doomed. Whether or not this is the can be determined by our next ultrasounds - however I just read the story of a woman whose baby did not grow between 6 and 8 weeks and when she went back at 10 weeks the baby had caught up and was fine! So whatever happens I'm going to let nature take its course, stay positive, talk to may baby, not listen to doctors too much and give my baby every possible chance. Let me know how it goes. Wishing you all the best xx

Kinda funny you said that.  My doctor did mention something about that.  I drank a lot of water before my ultrasound.  I emptied my bladder before my internal ultrasound.  Then I had my external ultrasound.  When I was done I had to use the bathroom again and it was a good bit.  My doctor said that could have been why to!  Does make a lot of sense.  I hope that is it!!

I went in for an U.S. at 5 weeks 5 days in the E.R. and when they did the stomach U.S. they couldnt see much of anything because my bladder was not full and you need a full bladder (since i was in hospital they wouldnt let me drink anything for hours...) so they decided to do a vaginal U.S. which you need to have an EMPTY bladder for... there they saw a heartbeat and measuered everything and all seemed fine... maybe its possible your bladder wasnt full enough for stomach one and not empty enough for vaginal one..... GOOD LUCK!

As of Monday June 13th I was sopposed to be 8 weeks.  They did an ultraound and it measured 6 wks 0 days with low heart rate, we could see baby, barely.  Went back 4 days later and couldn't see baby vaginaly so did over the tummy ultraound (was sopposed to be 6 wks 4 days and could barely see baby was measuring the same with no heart beat found.  She said since the ultrasound wasn't done vaginaly she's doesn;t think you could see much of anything so they aren;t jumping to conclusions yet.

I'm sorry to hear what you are going through.  But I was just curious, how many weeks are you suppose to be, because if you are 4 weeks or less, you wont see anything or even see a heartbeat?
