No baby

I had my first ultrasound yesterday at 7w 3 days and they couldn't see the baby.  The sac was empty.  She said it may be because I'm not quite 7 weeks or the baby should appear in the next couple of weeks.  Has this happen to anyone? Did u have a healthy pregnancy?

Yup happened to me and 2 weeks later we could see the baby. But they did advise me that it could mean miscarriage if the sac was empty after waiting 2 more weeks

Request a vaginal ultrasound.  If they don't give it to you get a second opinion. With my first one they said I was having a miscarriage and she's 6 months old now..  I'm so happy I got that second opinion.

Thanks everyone.  I wouldn't get a decent until ur over 10 weeks and if they can't see anything   I've been told by everyone sometimes you can't see the baby until after 10 weeks.

I went to the doctor today for my ulstrasound, I am 7 weeks as well, and they didn't see anything and told me that they should have been able to hear a heart beat and because they didn't see anything they believe I have had a 'Missed miscarriage' I go back Monday for another ulstrasound where they said I could schedule a DNC if everything still looked the same. I am completely distraught :( I am 26 and have no kids. I got pregnant in Jan for the 1st time and had a MC in Feb., and now this :( I hope your situation works out better for u, but I am so upset and I just don't understand how they just know I've had a missed miscarriage just because they didn't see anything. I mean what if I go back Monday and they see something. I'll pray.

Yes, i went for a scan at 6 weeks they couldn't see anything. Then again at 7 and just saw an empty sac and then at 8 weeks finally saw a little bean but no heartbeat and then went again at 9 weeks and finally there was a heartbeat. Sometimes your dates can be incorrect as we can't pin point exactly when we concieved. I'm not 25 weeks plus 2 days.good luck.x

I remember when I had my first ultrasound with my son I was only 61\2-7weeks at the time so instead of the nurse doing a regular ultrasound just putting the monitor on your belly she performed a vaginal ultrasound where you stuck some type of monitor in my vajay Jay and there my lil man was. I guess it just depends on where you go and what options are available to you.
