placenta covering entire uterus

I am 23 wks and at my last scan I was told that not only to I have previa, but it can not "move up" as there is nowhere for it to go. The entire surface of the uterus is covered with placenta, and it is thick. It was fine two weeks earlier, but anterior, inferior, over the cervix. They said it could be accreta, and hence it has found an additional nutrient supply, but could not confirm until "34 wks - if I last that long without bleeding"! I was just told to "take it easy" ( with two other small children). This is a little scary as I have heard of accrtea and what that will mean in terms of hysterectomy etc. but NEVER heard of anyone having the untire uterus covered with placenta. If it continues to grow like it has for the last two weeks, what will happen to the baby? How will they get it out if the placenta is everywhere? Anyone ever had this?
Thanks

Wow! Thank you for replying, I thought I was the only one! My ob is not really interested in monitoring my siuatuion very close - no more scans for another 9 weeks.  Was this her first preg? Did she have a lot of bleeding? Did she deliver early? Did they have to do a hysterectomy? I have been told I will prob have to have a hysterectomy for the blood loss.  Is she and the baby ok now?

If you get a chance to reply it would be really appreciated!
Thanks

I had never had this problem but my husbands cusin did. The placenta was covering her uterus. She had to have an u/s done every week or so to monitor hoping that the placenta would move but it did not. She gave birth trought a c-section. There was no other way for the baby to come out. Good luck.
