No insurance

Is it okay to not go to the doctors every month? I don't have insurance and I've only been checked once when I found out that I was pregnant and that s when I was 9 weeks. I'm now 12 weeks feel fine and belly growing. Any advice??

I make a little over 1700 and I was approved after a week. You should really insist there is no reason why they wouldn't approve you.  I also have my work insurance and medicaid is paying for all of my deductibles. I thought I wasn't going to get approved but all my co workers told me to try it wouldn't hurt and it sure didnt. Good luck !

Yeah,  what mfayb said.  I'm so sorry you're working so hard and people who don't work at all are in front of you for medical care.

I am so sorry you work so hard for a living and when you actually need it our system fails you. It's actually pretty infuriating to know if you didn't have a job you would be better taken care of.

I'm not sure I'm trying to but I keep apply for access and they deny me. I live on my own and it seems like the only way they will give it to me is if I'm making less then 1700 a month or not working. I'm stressing out on how it should do it. There's no way I can be with out a job.

If u don't have Insurance apply for medicaid ASAP! The Processing time 4 pregnant women is 15 days max so I really recommend u do that cuz u really should be going to the dr every month regardless of ur belly & baby are doing good cuz u anyways wanna make site it stays that way..once u apply for medicaid u can talk to ur drs office and see if they will wrk with u and bill u so medicaid can pay once u get approved cuz medicaid pays bills 3 months back... I'd they don't wanna wrk with u like mine didn't just ask I'd u can only pay half of whatever the bill is that's wat I did...good luck hope this helped

You should at least go for the 13 weeks ultrasound to test for Downs and the 20 weeks scan for fetal abnormalities. It's really important to be checked often. Are there any local programs that could help you get insurance where you live?
