No yolk sac yet

I went for my first ultrasound the other day and we discovered a gestational sac measuring about 5 weeks and 2 days. Is it normal to not see a yolk sac yet. My hcg levels are doubling every 48 hrs like they should. Friday they were 12,538 and sunday they were 21, 897.  I go back in a few days for another u/s. Hopefully it was just too early to see anything.

Yeah, not to through a worry there but 5 weeks there should be something there...honetsy, that s what my doc said when I had a m/c ( my hcg level was doubling as well.....)I had a yok but no baby..
However, there are numerous cases when it is too early so each case is individual. Keep us updated and I wish you to have a sak and a baby there tomorrow!

That's what the nurses keep telling me...it's so hard not to worry though. When i go back tomorrow it will mark 6 days since my last u/s, so something should be there. I will def. keep you updated!!! Thanks for the support!

At 5 wks 2 days it could very possibly be too early!! I would wait it out and see what the next u/s says. I am suprised they arent making you wait atleast a week instead of a couple days......so that things are more likely to be there when you go back. Your levels sound promising. Keep us updated !
