Not sure

I'm around 37 weeks and 3 days and have been having contractions (very irregular and infrequent) for the past 5 weeks, as of about 3 weeks ago my OB told me I was 60% effaced but the cervix was still closed, as of a week later my OB told me I was still about 60% effaced but was now 1cm dilated (and the baby's head was further down than the previous week).  Last night my fiancee and I took our two kids to the local theater to see Madagascar 3 and I had to pee (sorry for any TMI) before the movie started, so I went to the restroom and when I was wiping there was this HUGE glob of clear snot looking stuff (after googling it and reading a bunch of different women saying the same thing and reading something on it on *****************.com I came to the conclusion it was my mucus plug) and since then I have been having more painful contractions (they started becoming a little more *regular* about a week and a half ago) and now pretty much anytime I stand up or straighten out it feels like sharp pains shooting through my pelvic area (around where my legs connect to it).  I am not sure what is going on as of now and am slightly concerned cause I am a high risk pregnancy.

I agree if those contractions stay steady I'd contact the on call nurse at your ob's office and tell them what's going on, if you still don't seem to sure or know something just isn't right go to the hospital to get checked.
