Belly Bands before maternity clothes

I was wondering if anyone has experience with Belly Bands. Do they really work that great? I'm only 6 weeks but due to bloating my jeans are so tight I can barely wear them.  I was thinking of getting a belly band to lengthen the time I can wear my jeans.

I used a bellyband Friday and hated it I don't know if it's just not the right size I might return and get a large. I have an hour glass figure my waist is tiny and my hips wide. It didn't go far enough down on my hips and everytime I bent over the back of my jeans would pop out. It was way to loose around my waist and just uncomfortable. Maybe when I start to get a belly it will fit better. Idk

I wore the belly band up until week 24 or so.  After that, I went to maternity jeans.  I could still use my regular jeans, but there's no reason to be uncomfortable, hahaha.  I say buy it and use it until you can!  They are usually around $20 so it's not like you're spending a fortune or anything.  Maternity jeans are super comfortable; maternity shirts are ugly!  Haha.  In my opinion, anyway.  =)

I bought them and hated them.  They were always riding up the back of my pants and I constantly had to readjust them.

I bought the 4 pack of Be-Bella Belly Bands on ebay. I got a medium hopefully they will work but they do offer returns if they aren't the right size.

Their is a size chart on the back that should help you figure out what size to get. I got mine a size 2.

i dont know about the belly band but i bought a couple pairs of low rise jeans that sit well below my belly...in a couple sizes up from what i normally wear and im still in them now at 24 weeks.....and i have lots of room to grow! i also bought one pair of maternity jeans because i knew id need them later that fit now but kinda slide around and fall off while walking. they feel great just standing around but walking is no good lol. i bought mine in a medium and the lady at motherhood maternity said they should fit the whole time...u should go there and just ask the sales woman for help...theyve been pretty knowledgeable. my low rise jeans are way more comfortable then my maternity jeans though i think. i just got the pair with the regular band...im wearing them in a pic on my profile. next belly pic ill wear the low rise jeans so u can see how well they work : )

So they got me this far and i just bought some maternity pants. I love them they worked great. I got mine at jcpenney but i saw them at target for like $14.95.

I had one from Motherhood Maternity as well. I agree with the other posters, it was great, and I wore it for 6 months following my son's birth so I felt "together & covered." =) Definitely a worthwhile purchase!

I bought one for my daughter at the Motherhood Maternity store and she really likes it. This way she can still wear her favorite jeans and even her work pants and not have to buy bigger or maternity just yet. She's almost 18 weeks now. :)

They don't work well if you're using ultra low rise jeans :-/

I forgot to mention that my sister just wore her jeans zipped as much as she could then looped a rubber band or pony tail holder through the button hole, then secured it around the button of the pants.  Then wore a long shirt of course.  :)

I love my belly band I started wearing one at 8 weeks with all of my work slacks (I am now 10 weeks pregnant), which are my only pants that don't really have elastic or stretchy material in them.  I got the one at Motherhood Maternity, but I have a petite frame (5'5 and weigh about 120).  It seemed like it wouldn't fit me until I was like six months pregnant.  I found some at Target that were cheaper and were really snug and stretchy, so they will fit throughout your whole pregnancy.  I can't get enough of them.  :)

I also got mine at Motherhood Maternity and worked wonderfully.  I could still wear my old pants but keep them unbuttoned and the belly band held them up.  It's perfect for when you are too small to fit into maternity pants but the belly is growing and you can't button your pants up anymore.  Also get bigger sizes for when you are later in your pregnancy, like the last month.  Because I noticed that once the baby dropped my belly would hang out bellow my maternity shirts and I could use a band to cover the bottom of my belly.  But I also had a humongous baby...lol.  I passed down my belly bands to my friend who used them and loved them.  Well worth the money, they come in different colors to.  I also used them after I gave birth because my stomach felt so heavy, it helped to hold in my abdomen.

I got mine at Motherhood Maternity and it worked awesome!  I had to stop wearing it when I couldn't fit my jeans past my hips though, lol.  It is also good to wear after pregnancy, until you fit into your old jeans.

with my first Pregnancy my hips spread really early and I couldn't get my jeans up by 7.5-8wks.  I'm gonna be 6 wks tomorrow and so far I can still wear 2 pairs of my jeans but the other ones are way to tight on the waist and I can't wear them.
I bought about 5 pairs of mat pants that are old navy 3 of them have the soft band that you roll over for early pregnancy and then roll up later. I also have 2 that have just the 3 inch elastic band around them.

I found a four pack of belly bands on ebay for $19.95 + $5.95 shipping. I know that Target has Liz Lange belly bands for $19.99 each. I think I will go ahead and get them. I just hate spending money on something not knowing if it's gonna work out for me or not.

I have friends who wore belly bands through their first and second trimesters. I was soooo jealous of them as they swore by them. I am not a big girl but because I had a miscarriage at 20 weeks before this pregnancy, my upper legs grew a little too big to fit comfortably in my regular jeans. I wear tighter jeans to begins with so the belly band was not an option for me. If it an option for you and you think your legs will fit in your jeans, then knock yourself out. It was hard to get mat pants that fit since my belly was not HUge in the beginning, but I was not fitting in my regular pants. I got a couple different pairs of mat jeans. The ones with the band all the way up to the breasts are the BEST ones in my opinion. The thin band at the bottom only got to tight and I outgrew them. The half band with the band that goes right to the belly button was also uncomfortable after a while. I got the ones with the super big band and just folded the band over until I had to wear it open. I hope my advice makes sense and helps a little. I think we all have different bodies and will experience different things. I was not happy when I payed so much money for mat jeans that I outgrew but it was a learnign experience in my opinion too. :) Good luck and congrats on your preg :)
