I asked around. My husband's sisters both used the same ob, and they had good experiences, so that's where I went. Definitely find a doctor who will spend plenty of time talking to you to answer questions or to assess your overall well-being.
I didn't really have any specific requirements. Availability is nice, but I'm moving around so much that I haven't had an OB for more than a couple months at a time. We're moving to Hawaii in a couple of weeks, and found out that there's a midwife that lives right across the road. So hooray. :)
I started by checking what doctors delivered at the hospital I wanted to deliver at first. Then I looked into how many csections they had done successfully and others reviews on them (I get a csection so that was pretty important to me. Didnt want to be a ginny pig lol) then I called offices and tried to see which ones of those id narrowed it doen to accepted ny insurance and have availabilities and set up an appointment.
Always make sure it's a doctor that answers all ur questions and worries....believe me u will know if he or she is the doctor for u I personally like getting attended by a female OB but unfortunately this pregnancy my regular OB no longer was practicing so I had to change :/ and now I had to change again to be able to have my bby here in my hometown and not a town an hr away .... good luck
