Pump enough to relieve the pressure but don't empty the breast.
Have a hot shower and put a soaked washcloth on them for a couple minutes, then hand express just enough to releive some of the pain. Do this frequently.
I was wondering the same thing and just never thought to ask.
If you pump enough to relieve engorgment and not to empty it will not stimulate increased production.

I actually have some motrin from my c-section prescribed so I'll try that too!
also, now that you aren't pregnant, if they get super swollen and hot, take 800mg motrin. it'll reduce the inflammation(
Okay definitely going to try it tonight, she's been eating constantly since she was born so my milk came in a LOT and fast.
Try taking a hot shower and letting the water run over them and really tight supportive bras.(:
Oh no I'm EBF, she's doing great, I just have a ton. I think if I pump though it will just tell my body to produce more won't it? I really don't want to get worse, it's more my left than my right.
Are you not breastfeeding? If not then put red cabbage leaves in your bra. But if you are wear like two really tight sports bras. Or let hot water on the shower run over your boobs.
I'll be trying that tonight, thank you!!
hot, moist towels on the boobies!!!(:
