Have you found the location yet? That was the first thing we started with it seemed like nothing else could go forward until we had the location , date, and time. After that I found a dress, but I guess you'll want to wait on the dress since your ttc.

Honeymoon planning
Before you do anything else you'll want to put your final budget together so you know what your working with.
I have my date and place. Not sure what would be a good time. Its 4 hrs from both our families bc that's in the middle.
We are going to have a pretty cheap wedding. No $10000 budget here! Lol maybe $2-3000! There's only gonna be bout 30ppl so pry no save the dates. And I have the party picked out I think...
Thank you! :)
well i had a very cheap wedding... $1500 tops... 80 ppl though... we have a huge family and (being hispanic) a lot of really close friends... it was very informal though... so i guess ur list depends on what kind of wedding u want...
Try theknot.com it's an awesome site! I used it to plan my wedding!
Ik. I tired a coupld but I only have my phone bc my computer took a poo!
Oh. Yeah that would make it a little harder.
Any other ladies with a little help??
Theme if you're having one,

Are you getting married outside? If so, do you have a rain plan?
Getting married outside can save a lot of money on decorations because you have nature to help with that. Another good cost saver is to assemble your own flowers. I have helped friends do this. The big box stores like Sams Club and Costco sell roses very cheap. And they are gorgeous. It is a fun thing to do the night before the wedding with bridesmaids or close girlfriends. There are lots of tutorials on-line to make simple bouquets.
You can save a little money on invites by having people RSVP to a wedding website you set up. Just put on the invite: " For more information and to RSVP go to www......". You can use the site to give directions, accommodation info, registry links, and rsvp. So you will only have to print one card for the invitation. It is gaining popularity and if anybody gives you crap ...just tell them you are saving trees.
The cake alone can cost a lot of money. For a 30 person wedding I would consider having your most talented family baker make it. Or, do a small cake to cut and cupcakes for guests.
Does that number include your dress budget? If it does...ask around in your family to see if anyone has a dress they would let your wear and alter. Or you can find one at a consignment store to alter however you want for a fraction of the cost. We have a Junior League consignment store here that has gorgeous dresses in it. A friend of mine got a designer dress for $40 there and then had a seamstress add some details she wanted. She made it her own.
Ummm.... I love frugal wedding planning. :)
Spiket- I'm kinda scared bout where u live! Lol.
Dress- $300 or less. (We have a place in my small home town who only sells dressed under $300.) Alterations free thanks to Nana! :)
Invites- I'm making my own. Or I should say my sister is.
Flower girls- I found a few at David's bridal. For $70 that I like.
Venue- has an outdoor patio AND indoor ball room! So the reception is actually in the same place as the wedding!:)
Flowers/cake- not sure what I'm planning there.
I really apperciate it! Ill pry be asking you more questions! :)
Your scared of where I live? I don't know what you mean.
Sounds like you have a lot of good options figured out already.
Lol. That everything is so expensive! Lol. Its kinda cheap around here! I don't even think it'll cost $2000. Lol
Any ideas for what I should serve at the reception like I said it's kinda be 30 ppl or less. Its 4 hrs from both mine and DFs family. And we aren't invitng many ppl bc we knw they won't come.
WOW.. Not to hijack your post, but SPIKET77, I need your help! Ken & I are getting married and we have a guest list of about 50-75 people, and I can't figure out how to do anything "affordable" I have never heard of a wedding that cost less than $12K for 75 people? Message me with some ideas? Our families live ALL over the country and some cannot really afford to travel, and we have no idea where to do it.. Ugh..
And to the original poster, you have already received a TON of great advice!! Happy Planning & Congratulations!
Thanx! But I'm still look for some more advice.....
Congrats to u too.
What specifically are you looking for advice on? I might be able to help.It looks like you have already booked your venue, and have your guest list completed. I saw you asked about food, and have you looked in restaurants in the area to see who caters, and get quotes? If you aren't close to your home, or any of your families' homes, I'd imagine you'd have to have it catered because you can't really transport food for a wedding 4 hours? Do you want a buffet? What kind of decor do you want for your reception? Have you picked your color scheme? So much to decide, huh? =D
here's the order (I) would suggest:
time & date
send out save the dates
pick the place & book it (reception & service)
pick the preacher & book him (find out if he / she requires pre-marital counseling (ours did))
pick & book band/DJ
pick & book honeymoon location (make sure you arrange for a "wedding night" somewhere if your flight takes off the morning / afternoon after the wedding
assign wedding party
register multiple places (department stores & walmart/target)
pick theme
pick bridesmaid dresses/tuxes (whole wedding party MUST be present to get measurements and they are supposed to pay for their dress/tux
send out invitations
figure out what you want for food--homemade / catered
book the food or arrange for people that are cooking
pick and book the cake
pick out decorations, silverware, plates, etc...
also if you are TTC i highly suggest you hold off until after the wedding since your dress may/may not fit etc...
thats all i can think of for now!!!
well here is my advice i had a big wedding but we did everything ourselves cuz of the money thing.. we had a lot of people like 200 but with the help of my mom and sister we did it all. for arounf 5000.00 so i think you can def do yours in your budget.. we did the food ourselves we ordered chicken from the local grocery store and made mostocolli.. our sides were homemade mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, salad, and we had a veggie. we shopped at sams club and bought in bulk which saved alot of money..decide if you are going to have acholol. we did but where i had my wedding we had to provide our own and the bartender, so we limited what we bought and when it was out it was out. we watched the sales add to see what was on sale and bought it then. for our photos we did hire a company and there prices very on the type of packages they have. my dress about 400 and did not need any alterations so i lucked out there. we made the flowers. we used fake because they were cheaper then the real ones and alot easier to deal with. we also did the invites ourselves.
oh i also forgot we made out own centerpieces. we made candles and used wine glasses. the wax wass inexpensive adn we just dyed the wax and scented it.and our thanks you cards we made little scrolls and tied them with ribbon so we didnt ahve to mail out but a few to the people who mailed us cards and gifts.
You should go to Hobby Lobby or any craft store really. Check out the bridal section it will give you some great ideas. Even Walmart has a wedding isle in the craft area.
Oh another way to save... instead of a dj put together your own wedding track on an ipod. You could also start asking around to find out if any of your friends are into photography and would be willing to help take pictures at the wedding.
Well I'm not sure bout food bc DF and I are gonna go up a night or 2 before the wedding. And will be staying in a cabin which will have a full kitchen so we could make out own...
Thanx ladies! I'm love all the help! Who knew it would be so crazy and its getting me off ttc! :)
