I see the shadow too and it looks like they are about the same size and shape. I've never had anything else in the picture with my early ultrasounds just the baby and the sac. Good luck at your next ultrasound hope they get a more clear picture.
It sure looks like there's another baby in there :-D Maybe they were conceived on a different day and that one is still not visible so well? Congratulations! <3

Not sure if you'll be able to open that or not, but I found a pic of a twin u/s at 8 weeks...IDK, maybe yes maybe no for you...take a look at it.
haha its funny that petitewonder mentioned that show "make room for multiples"....i think watching that freaked me out
i want to enjoy every milisecond of sleep before these babies get here....Em isn't walking yet but she's getting closer....she'll be almost 16 months when these guys are due.....i have no clue how anybody does that
the only releif i got was my son going back to school today
Twinns... Scary. I cant see the picture since im on a tablet but it will be a suspenseful week. You should look up the show make room for multiples. I watched it alot when i was in the hospital last week and it frequently showed parents with two other small kids then twins. Its quite hectic looking but can give various ideas on managing so much
oh yeah I see what you're saying...huh! Interesting...
I don't have a good doppler, unfortunately. Something I just never invested in! I sure wish I had, now! LOL
do you have a doppler at home?
that is how i knew it was twins before it was confirmed :)
i was just looking at my pics from my u/s with the twins and if you look at the second pic in my twins photo album you will see that the other twin just looks like a blob, even at 11 weeks
the first pic was from the vaginal u/s that confirmed twins
at least its only a week...it would have been worse if they would have said wait 2 weeks
im soooo excited for you :)
Aren't they all, well most of them, lol. I seriously dislike the entire peds department at the hospital here...I'm looking forward to moving, and maybe getting a civilian dr. My PCM (primary doctor) is never the one I see here. Well she confirmed viability at the very least...I'm glad you have another one next week.
I think it was more that she didn't want me to have to change, get back on the table, then have to change back...I'm not sure, but all my early u/s have included trans-vag as well. I guess they got a good enough pic to confirm viability, which is what my OB requested. The nurse was a bit of a pain.
Hmm...I wonder why she didn't go ahead and do the trans vag anyways...with Grey on your lap I would think that would have been easier instead of doing it on your abdomen...not to mention I thought they always did them trans vag before 12 weeks...I didn't think they could see baby with it being so low still...
Cass - definitely, I agree. But the reason they didn't was because I was holding Grey on my ribs through the whole ordeal..she was just trying to get a heartbeat and a tentative due date and get me outta there. I think she was irritated that I didn't have anyone to help me with the kids...sorry, lady, I was irritated too, LOL.
but the OB who's doing it next week is my regular OB, not the MFM's nurse so I am confident he'll do whatever it takes to clear it up.
Ter - that's so funny that you were thinking that...when she said that about not being able to confirm that there was only one baby, I immediately thought of you!!
KL - I'm sure I'll update on FB the moment I find out, LOL
I see something that COULD be a second baby. But I've also seen weird blobs like that on my ultrasounds and I've always had singleton pregnancies. They should have gone ahead and done a transvaginal ultrasound. Even accounting for the camera issues, it looks like the technology of the machine they used wasn't exactly the most up to date or clearest.
haha, i just saw how you referred to me and as i was closing the post i thought the same thing
i tried for 1 more and was blessed with twins....maybe it's a sign.....i cant wait to hear your update
i have my 8 week u/s pics posted on fb under the "twins, oh my" photo album if you want to compare
i see what appears as a blob directly above too....kinda similiar to my 8 week u/s....the tech said she thought she saw 2 beating heartbeats but the babies were behind each other....we immediately did a vaginal u/s and sure enough, 2 babies!!!!
ugh, how exciting that you might be having twins too!!!!
hopefully this week flies by for you because i know i wouldnt be able to wait that long, LOL
congrats!!!
OMG suspense is killing me. Strange thing when you said you were pregnant I wondered if it was going to be twins. Dead serious! Idk but looks like a second to me. But maybe a vanishing twin? Or maybe a twin or maybe just a random shadow to freak you out? Oh my gosh can't wait to hear next week. Good luck!! I hope you are feeling ok. Of course you are allowed to be scared I think even with one you are allowed to be scared, first time mom or not any life change is scary. But you know god never gives you more than you can handle and you are truly an amazing mommy so if anyone can handle
It, YOU CAN! Hugs!!
thanks sweetie!!! I can't wait to update either, the suspense is killing me, LOL
I agree with the first poster. As soon as I clicked on the pic to enlarge it, I saw that shadow above the yellow circle. I'm not an U/S tech either but that is def there....Ooooh how exciting if it is another bundle of joy!!! Can't wait until your next update:)
LOL Sabrina I'm excited for you....I hope it all goes smoothly, and quickly for you!
Nicole - this is pretty much it. we aren't doing anything permanent, because we don't know what the future will hold, but we always wanted 3 to begin with...so for at least the next 5-10 years, we're done. Probably DONE done....but never say never, right? But I am considering this my "last one" since we have no immediate plans for more.
It does seem to be that everyone who plans on "just one more" ends up with 2 though....LOL, like Terri!
And I can totally understand..before we bought this house we could NOT have had another baby in the house we were renting....just no way. But we bought a foreclosed house for super cheap and now we pay less on mortgage than we did on rent ANYWHERE. So we got really lucky...and that's what gave us the opportunity for baby #3, or we would've been stalled at 2.
If I had twins, I would be excited, but nervoud as all get out. Lexi has recently started screaming for no reason after a few hours I get frustrated. She has an ear infection right now, so that could be the reason behind her screaming, but this Mommy can only take so many hours of it before her loony button gets activated. lol. I can't imagine two at once!
I would love to ttc again when Lexi is one, but we just can't. We need to either get a bigger apartment or find a house that we can afford on a single income. We already have a car payment and all of that, but we'd rather put money into a house instead of renting. DH says he doesn't want anymore, but....he promised me when we got married we could have two. Lol, Maybe he'll change his mind.
Is this your last time with pregnancy, or are you going to try for another?
Of course you're allowed!!! I would be too, and I'm not planning on baby #3 arriving until after Aubryana's 18 months...I'm not even trying again until she's at least a year old...HOPEFULLY soon after *fingers crossed*...just got my financial aid approved today, and I'll be starting classes about mid-Sept for Med transcriptionist...six month course, so I'm hoping and praying I get hired on fast after I'm done, and from there all I have to wait on is JOSH *imagines kicking him* decides he's ready...otherwise I'd just wait til she's weaned, lol.
Yeah I'm getting another ultrasound next wednesday....
and I am trying so hard not to think about it. Twins would be wonderful and all, but seriously...after today the thought terrifies me, lol. I thought she was just SAYING it until I took a good long look at the ultrasound and I was like "oh....uh-oh..."
Guess I'll be able to update next week....O.O! lol..seriously, I'll take whatever blessing comes my way..but I'm allowed to be afraid, right?
LOL. I hear ya there. To me it looks, and not to scare you, almost like you took a pic of the baby only, flipped it upside down, and lightened it and stuck it right above him/her...so are you getting another U/S next week? OMG how scary that would be to wait and find out that there's twins, and be wondering all that time...lol sorry, not sure if you were thinking that but I probably just put it in your head...
