The same thing happened to me when i was 15 weeks prego.  I am now 26 weeks along.  My doctor saw me and by then the spotting had stopped.  She said that sometime you can bleed from the edge of the plecenta and that it wouldnt hurt the baby.  She said to keep an eye on it and if i had more bleeding or cramps to call them again ASAP.  I havent had any since.  I would do as your do says and keep an eye on it.  it might just be one of those freak things that happens sometimes, trust me i know how scary it is.  Your going to go the the bathroom more now like i did just to check, hopefully there is no more bleeding.  good luck and keep us updated

i also just got a hold of my nurse at my ob office and she told me its probably a irrated uterus she said sometimes women in their second trimester get irrated utereus for no reason .. she said as long as it isnt a gush of any kind of fluid (including blood) and no cramping that i should be ok.. I was just checked tuesday and he said everything was good so i just dont understand

don't you hate their office hours!!!  if it was from just being dry or something i don't think you would've still seen wiping as many times as you did.  was your u/s a transvaginal one or did you have intercourse last night?
