tattoos and breastfeeding

I know we can't get them while pregnant. Does it count for breastfeeding as well? Has anybody been breastfeeding and got a tattoo? I want to get one of my kids foot prints.

Even go to you're tattoist and see what they say some will refuse to do so, you are always at risk of infecetion no matter how well you treat it. But speak to you're doctor and tattooist you're choice at the end of the day.

I'm getting mine after 9 months. So my body can recover from my c.section first. Gonna see what my doctor says about it first.

My Dad is a tattooist and only knows of one person who has tattooed someone while breastfeeding. He really doesnt recommened it even if you look after it, it is still VERY possible to get infections and it will really affect your baby alot more then you. My advice just wait

Apparently you just have to take care of the tattoo so it won't get infected(a no Brainer), but the ink will not pass through to your breastmilk.

You can just be careful you don't get an infection.

Your not supposed to get a tattoo when breastfeeding either because if you get an infection it can go into your milk
