Overweight and 7w Preggo

Just wondering if there is anybody else out there who is also overweight and pregnant.  I am about 50 pds over ideal and wondering how my body will react differently.  Will my boobs grow more or less than typical?  When will I start to show?  How much weight should I gain over the next 9 months?  Just looking for someone to comiserate (sp?) in the same situation.

my friend who is 17 weeks, is like 5'10 and well over 200lbs....she loves not having to spend extra on maternity clothes, and "showing"-wise, her belly has gotten firmer....she's only gained like 3 pounds so far, but i'm sure she'll gain more, and also with showing, i think her belly will just round out and firm up...that's her hope also....as long as you dont have any health issues im sureyou're fine....i was 168 when i found out, probably 200 now, and i'm 5'4 @ 28 weeks....dang, i've already gained 32lbs....no wait, i was 176 at my 1st appt, i was 168 around xmas or so.....

i am 5'10" tall and i started out this pregnancy weighing 200 pounds. i am currently 33 weeks pregnant and weigh close to 230 pounds. my goal was to gain no more then 25 pounds. my doctort said i have nothing to worry about and that i am perfectly healthy and he's not concerned at all with my weight. what a relief. my weight is a big thing to me... and i constantly think about it. but knowing that my doc is confident about the way my pregnancy is progressing makes me feel more at ease.
with my first pregnancy i gained over 65 pounds, but i started out at about 150 pounds.

I'm 5' 2 and 180.  What types of extra things did they do because they considered you high risk?

my prepregnancy weight was 186 and im 5 foot 2 im considered obese, and because of that the doctors stuck me in the high risk pregnancy section, which is really funny because im not high risk!
but really ive noticed(because i wasnt overweight my first pregnancy) that ive gained far less weight with this one, but my boobs have still gotten huger, one problem is early on no one can tell your pregnant but by the time your like 6 months you can just affect the "pregnant lady pose" and everyoen will know=)
there are actually tons of girls who are overweight and pregnant out there if you start looking around, no worries your not the only one! and im guessing youll only gain 20 pounds top if that and thats something most non overweight pregnant ladies cant say!

I know three heavier ladies that I can think of off of the top of my head, and they all barely showed and gained 10-15 pounds with their pregnancy.  They're breasts didn't grow as much either.  With both of these, you can look at it positively or negatively...one lady was psyched she could pretty much wear all of her pre prego clothes and another was bummed out because she was pregnant at the same time as someone else and the other lady got tons of comments about her baby bump and how cute it was and some people didn't even know the other one was pregnant!  But, like leighanne said, stay active and enjoy your pregnancy =)

i am starting off with an additional 50lbs on me too.  i think the biggest thing we have to do it try to stay active and watch what we eat.  i want to gain no more than 20-25lbs max, i am hoping for even less but i am tryign to stay realistic too.
