Well it depends on the doctor and how often he or she feels necessary to give ultrasounds. My doc gave me an ultrasound every appointment until about 20 weeks(when I had my anatomy scan). I also had blood work done during the first trimester(almost 10 tubes of blood). My second trimester the did blood work to check for any birth defects, a glucose test at around 24 weeks and a shot because I had a negative blood type. So it really just depends on you and your doc.

At your initial doctors visit at your gyn, theyre supposed to do a pap smear, pelvic exam, and I believe a breat exam. I also live in PA. I have yet to have this doctors visit myself, but all my pregnant friends went through this as a routine first visit.

They offer if there is a reason. My last Dr never said anything about getting it, a few tested but it was not a big thing a little blood draw, on my first they had me meet with genetics people in my first trimester and I had a bunch of meetings with them through out my pregnancy. That testing is not extremely important unless you would be willing to abort if baby had problems, I think that is why my last never mentioned it ( he knew it was not an option for me).

You normally have one or two ultrasounds sometimes more depending on pregnancy and Dr. Sometimes they give you one to recheck your due date is right. That is at the beginning of pregnancy 1st or second appointment and you get blood work done around 11-12 weeks. You get anatomy scan and normally find out gender around 16-22 weeks depending on Dr. Then you have glucose test where you drink nasty stuff and not sure about the date on that but I am normally really big when I get the test. Also some drs redo some testing or decide some additional testing is needed trough out pregnancy. All drs are different on what they order, I had some that only ordered minimal testing (one ultrasound, one blood work, glucose test) and I had one that did lots of frequent tests ( ultrasounds every 2-3 week's, blood tests every month or two, glucose, half way through stress tests every 2 week's and more..)..
