Well it depends if you are ttc, I went without a period for 2 years and then took bcp (doctor's orders) I am overweight and bcp makes it that much harder to lose weight. I've also tried Metformin but discontinued after 4 months and no change, Provera had no obvious effect either.
I am currently trying to exercise and lose weight while on bcp and once I lose the "dangerous weight" I want to try for a baby.
Hope this helps!
I took Metformin as well. I also took a prenatal and folic acid. Just losing weight (if you are overweight with PCOS) can regulate you and cause your ovaries to ovulate again if they are not ovulating. I hate the "birth control cures all" cover that doctors give women. I'm glad you were able to get the medication you truly need. I hope it helps!
Thanks for the replies, I have started on metformin, i declined the offer for clomid in addition to the metformin. I am not actively taking steps to prevent pregnancy but I am not charting and taking to all of the other measures to help either. I would be thrilled to have my own healthy baby. Looking forward to seeing some results.
I also have psco 2.... I took birth control when i was younger to keep the psco uncontrol but now i have been taking metformin for years... and I have my period each month like clock work... I would tell your dr u want metformin if u r not trying to get preg u better us protection..

evening primrose oil is a natural thing.
metformin is what you need!!! do not take the birth control, bad stuff!
