Ultrasound anomaly

I had an ultrasound by a perinatologist yesterday (I am about 9 weeks).  The doctor wouldn't give a specific answer, but said that the fetus' heart could be growing too far forward in the chest (close to the outside) but I have to go back in 2 weeks for another ultrasound.

Has anyone else been through this?  Has is worked out?  Is there a chance because of the babies position or the small size of the fetus that is just an error of the reading of the ultrasound?

It's so early and babies are really resilient. I've heard of women who've had awful ultrasounds and the doctors suggest ending the pregnancy. And then their babies end up being born fine. The problems usually correct themselves before they're born. It is really too soon to say for definite sure that anything is wrong.

Get a second opinion, go to a different sonographer.

I am certainly not a doctor nor have I had anything like this happen to me but at 9 weeks everything is still so so very tiny.  Because of that, I do believe that this could be an error this early.  You may want to try to search it on the web but many women on this forum say that the dr. says something early on about one thing or another and then they end up being way off base.  Good thing is you will be going back in 2 weeks.  That is good.  It sounds like they are taking every step to make sure everything is okay.    Best of luck and keep us posted.  God bless you and your little one!!
