Pregnancy stress and leave of absense from work

Hi Everyone,
I have been so stressed out at work that I cry every day and since I can't work 12 hours a day and weekends to keep up with my sales quotas I am falling behind  (I am in financial sales).  I got a verbal warning, and if I don't do double production by the 30th of may I get a written warning.  I am 26/27 weeks along, have BH contractions and my baby is nestled really low so I also feel tons of pressure.  Everything is fine and I am not at risk at the moment for preterm labor.
My question is I am going to the doctor today.  I really feel like talking to her about my situation and see if she will put me on some sort of medical leave until the baby comes.  I know I need to only worry about my baby and not stress, but I can't do that with my job.  Has anyone else ever taken a leave while pregnant who wasn't bedridden?  Do you guys think doc will go for this?  I hope so.  It would be for about 8 weeks then I would go on maternity leave.  I wish I could just quite, but money would be so tight and I can't find a new job at almost 7 months pregnant.  Any advise or input would be appreciated !

My doc said she would write me a note for stress any time I want, but the leave would be unpaid. But, I would just take maternity which is paid when I qualify.  I will try to tough it out but at least I know I have that in my back pocket and it would protect me from getting fired and losing my leave pay.  I have been documenting everything just incase.  Every pregnant woman should get leave during pregnancy and after in my opinion.

I hear you. I'm not supposed to lift over 20lbs either because of when I injured my back right after I got pregnant...yeah, right. My husband works all day and we're moving, and my daughter doesn't weigh 30lbs but she DOES weigh 24-25....and I have a recalcitrant golden retriever that has to be dragged inside when the geese from our pond are too close. I don't know why, but today I'm so exhausted I want to just cry. It was NEVER Like this when I was pregnant with my daughter (but I was also under a lot less stress).

Hang in there girl, us southern girls are tough.

AMEN to THAT. My doc told me yesterday to take it easy, no lifting more than 20 lbs etc.  Uhm ok, I have a 30 lb toddler with me all day... that's NOT gonna happen and I have no friends or family in the area to help.  Just this morning I went off on my 13 yo about  how much I do for everyone in this family and just how UNGRATEFUL they all are. LOL gotta love hormones.

I don't know but I really hope that they can help you. I desperately wish there was a maternity leave that stay-at-home moms could go on. I'm so stressed right now and I WOKE UP exhausted today....just desperately need a break, lol. I really sympathize with you and I hope that your doctor can come up with some way to help you hon.

Some docs will be more than happy to do something like that, others not so much.  I suggest that you bring up your concerns to your doc and see what is said.

i took leave when i was preg with son...i recall that my stomach was so large i couldnt drive safely myself to work so the doc took me out of work i think at 34 weeks...it was also winter so there was a huge safety concern....talk to you doctor and see what they can offer you

if you job fires you.....you will have a huge lawsuit against them....they cannot do that to you....keep records of everything because it doesnt sound like your job understands what its like to be pregnant and only cares about money

best of luck to you
