PP bleeding

Ok, why does it look like I'm starting to bleed again? Anyone else have this happen? I bled for 8 1/2 weeks total, three times I stopped for up to three days and started again...it's now been about four and I have more blood when I wiped last time, so it looks like I'm starting again, or could it be my period? I'm exclusively breast feeding and didn't think I'd be getting a period so soon if I did at all. Can I ovulate if I'm still having pp bleeding?

I had the exact same thing with my daughter. I had to get up the 2nd week after she was born and do everything for her and my older children. This caused my body to take longer to heal. I would start bleeding everytime I over did it, by lifting things to heavy or just being on my feet to much. I could be your body just hasn't had a chance to completely heal yet. Hope this is helpful.

Well I hope it isn't AF. I haven't had any clots, although last time I bled I did. I haven't had anything like AF yet though...we shall see!

Your body is still adjusting the hormones after pregnancy, for some women this can take several months.  Just like with going on and off of certain birth control methods it can cause breakthru bleeding and spotting.  As long as it isn't heavy and you aren't passing clots I wouldn't worry about it at this point, even though I'm sure it's extremely annoying.

If it does get heavier, as long as it's not heavier than a normal period for you, I would wait and see what it does...see if it lasts as long as your normal period.  Unfortunately for some women, the hormone levels induced by breastfeeding just aren't enough to keep AF away for very long.

I've actually looked online last night and this morning, and I've found stuff about pp bleeding, but a lot of sites said brown blood, but every time I start bleeding again it's bright red. It's not heavy today, and normally AF is RIDICULOUSLY heavy, I mean like tampon & pad, and I have to change every hour or two...but this isn't enough to need more than a panty liner. All the pp bleeding so far I've needed a pad at first, but it slows down enough that I wouldn't fill a pad all day. IDK...I guess the nurse will give me some info...I hope it's not AF, I'd be so mad! After bleeding 8 1/2 weeks, and it starts now? UGH that would S*CK!

I'm gonna call again in a few...I thought my clinic opened at 7 like the peds clinic does, BUT of course they don't open til 730...it should be the other way around...7 am appointments are too early for kids, adults can deal better, lol.

Nickie the thing is, I've had this already several times. It'd be the fourth time I'd stopped bleeding for a few days and started again. This morning it's just a little spotting, so I don't know.

SunWorshiper_26, I know I'll ovulate before I get my period, and I'm not counting on BFing to prevent pregnancy, I have condoms. I'm not having unprotected sex, I just didn't expect to get it back so soon when I've heard so many women say they've gone ___ months without having one when exclusively BFing.

I actually think it is your period. I had the same thing happen and it ended up to be my period. UGH.

It could be your period which some women get quickly even when EBF. And yes you can ovulate  and will prior to getting your period. BF does not prevent pregnancy.
