Painful cramps

I was wondering if anybody has had severe cramps (like immobilizing stabbing burning pain that lasts for 20-30 minutes) and had it be a viable pregnancy. I'm five weeks along and my last pregnancy was ectopic with the same pain. My doctor says he has no reason to believe that it is ectopic at this point but he is monitoring my hcg levels and doing an early ultrasound on Monday. I don't know how this could be normal, but I'd thought I'd ask for some advice. Thanks!

I would say call your dr if your pain continues, but I am almost 6 weeks and had some pretty sever cramping a week ago, it hurt so bad i couldnt walk. it only lasted at most half an hour. even my right leg felt tingly, my dr. said everything looked ok and to not worry...

If that pain persists, I'd be calling my dr. immediately. It is normal to have some cramping, but what you're describing does sound alarming. If it gets really bad, you may want to consider going to an ER room. Hope all is well :)
