I always heard that if you go to a funeral wake, you're not supposed to go up to the casket or else it will "mark" your baby.
And if you see something bad happen such as something horrific, you're not supposed to grab your belly or whatnot or else it'll give your baby a horrible birth mark wherever you touch yourself.

My "favorite" myth is that if you go outside during an eclipse you will miscarry (unless you tie a red ribbon around your belly, or something metal, or something like that). Or if you go to a funeral or touch a dead person you will miscarry (guess what, I'm a nurse and I've pronounced at least three people dead during this pregnancy... 34 weeks and going strong).

I was told that if you have heartburn, then your baby has hair and the more hair your baby has, the worse your heartburn will be.

I really don't know where people come up with this crazy stuff!!!  They told me me that I wasn't able to eat spicy food or mop because that could affect the baby!

My sister had around the same heart rate with my first nephew as me but I'm having a girl.  So that's why heart rate is a myth with gender (:

Lol wow janellemessy I had morning sickness and I want my child. She shouldn't had said that because its normal for women to have morning sickness during pregnancy. And morning sickness can't determine if someone wants their child she should go back and do some research I bet she would think different :)

My bfs gma told me women who have morning sickness dont want their babies. She is a compleate crazy b.i.t.c.h. she says it bc she ddnt have morning sickness. I was lucky not to have it either. But if i had she would have told everyone i dnt want my baby.

And heart rate is supposed to be different at different points in your pregnancy. I told my mother in law what the baby's heart rate was around 14 weeks and she was positive that I would be having a boy just by that. Lol she has been a nurse her entire life and still was so set that the heart rate thing was usually correct. 20 weeks with a healthy little GIRL on the way.

One of the worst that I catch on here too..  Heart rate!  Everyone thinks heart rate has to do with gender.  Heart rate is high when active and low when sleepy or sleeping.

I hate when ppl tell me not to say anything bad a bout anyone else because my baby will come out looking like that person which isn't true he will come out looking like his parents not a random person

I hate it too! They told me that I was having a boy because of the shape of my belly but I'm actually having a girl!
