Periods-OT

I was curious for women who have had children in the past and their cycles after.

Some history---My last cycle was December of 2009. In this time frame I got pregnant, had my daughter and breastfed her for 8 months exclusively. I found out a month later I was pregnant, and miscarried a few days later. Yesterday, June 9th, I woke up to bright red bleeding. I'm assuming it's my period---It's almost to the day of my miscarriage at about 4 weeks later.

My question is this. Normally my cycles are super heavy to the point where I'm soaking through a super plus tampon every 1-2 hours. With this bleeding it's there, but I'm able to use a regular and not even really fill the whole thing. Is this normal to go through or them to change this much? Not that I'm complaining, it's just weird.

My bleeding has never been REALLY heavy.  But it has gotten slightly heavier since having kids.  After baby #5 my cycle went back to pretty much how it was before.  They were never regular, would come every 28-35 days on average and last 5-6 days.  I'm STILL not regular this time after I quit BFing in March.  I've had a few episodes of bleeding but not sure if they were menstrual or what.  I'm currently in my longest cycle yet this time.  I think I'm close to CD30 but haven't looked at my chart.

I think mine is taking longer to regulate this time because I have fluid in my right tube.  My doc is having me chart my cycles for 3 months and go back.

I've heard a LOT of women say their cycles change after having babies. But, your hormones have been through a LOT the last several months.  They were probably still somewhat out of whack when you got pregnant, then they were thrown off again when you miscarried.  I may take another cycle or two to see some normalcy again.

After having 2 kids my cycle have changed each time but that have gotten easier, and plus you may not be regular right at this time due to the miscarriage, wait about 3 months before you can see the normalcy again.

Before my children i had very heavy and painful periods. They were also 7-8 days in length. Then after my first my periods went down to 4-5 days and not so heavy. Also my cramps are very minimum, but when i get them boy do they hurt. So i would say it is normal to change that much.
