Perming hair

Hello everyone! Im an African American woman and my hair is beginning to be a huge hassle! I want to perm it SO bad, but there are so many different opinions on it. Im 14 weeks! This is my first pregnancy and i dont want to do anything that may harm my baby. Is it ok to get perms while pregnant?

as long as you have on gloves, not putting it on ur scalp, in a well ventilated area, and stretching them out you should be fine. I spoke to my doctor and this is what she told me. I didn't do my first perm till I was 16 weeks and another at 31weeks and used just for me. I'm currently 35+6

Hey girl, I'm in the same boat as you. I'm dying to perm this hair, yesterday I broke 2 combs! My doctor said it was cool. I'm thinking I'm just going to braid it down and weave it for the time being only because I'm scared, and it's my first pregnancy.

I am African American I permed my hair with my first pregnancy 11 yrs later with my second I permed my hair as well. Just don't perm it often just enough to manage it. I'm 35 wks I now have my hair flattwisted. If you don't want to perm it u can braid or go natural until after the birth

Baby Parrish do what I did cause mine was a hot damn tangled mess and I too am African American just go get a just for me it has no lye in it of course u kno that tho lol but mine looked like I permed it after I blew it out and flat ironed it try that!!! It's a life saver

I wuld say don't do it, but ask ur doctor bc my sister colored her hair she asked her doctor n they told her as long as they r not actually bleaching her hair it was ok
