Got my results from my heart monitor (a month later)

and well I as I suspected it there is something wrong.  They gave me a million Dollar word and told me in a nut shell your heart is made in two parts and the top part is suppose to contract  then the bottom releases.....well my top part is contracting contracting contracting and then releasing at the bottom making my heart beat as high as 168 BPM and making me feel like I just got done running a mile.  And it makes it very hard to breath and even feel like I'm gonna pass out.....so he doesn't think it's pregnancy related he thinks the pregnancy is just making it more obvious....so in short they want me to be refered to a cardioligist....and go from there.

Yeah I have SVT I tried both a calcium blocker and a beta blocker and neither of them fix mine.. So sometime after my pregnancy I have to have surgery to fix mine. They're going to freeze a circuit (apparently mine is taking a shorter circuit and coming back around causing my heart to beat faster) It sucks though always feeling like you've ran a marathon, and being pregnant you feel like you've ran 2 marathons lol!

It's not as bad as it sounds. I have both supra ventricular tachycardia and unsustained ventricular tachycardia. Basically three chambers of my heart (at different times) misfire like your top chamber(s) do(es). It is pregnancy class 1, meaning there is little risk to you (of it getting worse etc) It is usually easily treated by Beta blockers, or a simple surgery where they insert a laser through your vein into the chamber and blast the part causing it to misfire, fixing it.  I was also told by my cardiologist that the top two chambers are better equiped to handle the extra stress so it is more of an annoyance then dangerous in those chambers. Hope this helps.

See we know our own bodies.  You sensed something was wrong and it turns out that you were right.  At least you kept pushing it to your doctor and now they were able to pinpoint what the problem is and can help you.  I'm sorry you have to go through this, especially during your pregnancy.  Like you need another thing to worry about.  You will be fine though...take care of those lil ones and just get some rest.

i have PAC (premature atrial contraction) of the heart and i found out while i was pregnant. the doctor said he didnt feel it was anything to worry about at the time and figured it was bringing itself to light due to the pregnancy. i know how you felt. i could barely walk up a set of stairs w/o running out of breath, i would lay down and my heart would just feel like it was either going to jump out of my chest or that is stopped/skipped a few beats. now though im still short of breath easily, but for the most part its ok. hope everything works out for you and start feeling some relief soon :)

I'll pray for you! I'm only 23 and my heart rate did that quite a bit when I was working a few years ago. I would just go into work and take my pulse ox, it would be like in the 160- 180, and that was with me just entering the building, not working yet.  When I was younger tho, the drs said I have a heart mummur, but that I would outgrow it. Now that I'm a SAHW, I don't get like that but maybe every blue moon.

Praying you will get better and have a safe delivery.

xoxo

In the mean time if you start to feel it coming on you need to sit and rest and take it easy while it is happening and for a little while after. Don't try and "push on through it" or it could cause you to pass out.

It is better than the second one.  Your doctor is probably right about it being an underlying problem and not caused by the pregnancy.  It is when the upper part of your heart (like you said) is "mis-firing" too fast causing the bottom part to have to keep up.  The pregnancy (especially a twin pregnancy) is just putting extra strain on your heart so it is having to work harder.  The cardiologist will probably put you on a type of drug called a beta blocker that will help control the high heart rates.  The medicine should also help with she shortness of breath and dizziness once your heart rate is better controlled

Does Supra Ventricular Tachycardia (SVT) or atrial fibrillation sound familiar from what the doctor told you?

yeah I was at Wal-Mart yesterday and was feeling really faint and couldn't catch my breath at the pharmacy waiting for DH's medicine so I deceided to check my BP and heart rate and then it was 148.....but the Heart monitor noticed it as hight as 168  that was Mekaila's heart rate last time....

I hope it's not either! Your heart rate goes as high as your babies?? Wow. Hopefully the cardiologist can figure something out and give you an answer on this.
