I only have half placenta privia, but I will wait and ask the dr. Thanks for all the advice.
I found out that I had a low lying placenta (not previa...previa is 'worse') and my doctor told me to be on pelvic rest (no sex) until a follow up ultrasound 6 weeks later...I was also on general rest which meant no exercising or exertion. Like I mentioned, I only had a low placenta, not a full previa diagnosis and these were the precautions he made for me...If you have previa, you should not have sex, exercise or do anything that could disrupt it.
I also think you should abstain from sex as you never know where the placenta might be and you don't want to cause any damage. Ask your doctor though so that he can give you more details. When in doubt, don't do it because then you're going to spend so many hours just worrying nonstop and that's a horrible feeling. Play it safe.
I was just reading about it in my book and its says to not have sex at all. unless you have an ultrasound and it moved. it also means you will need a c-section again unless it moves. there is a chance of that . my gf had it in early pregnacny and at her 20 week ultrasound it had moved.she delivered naturally. Good Luck!
There isn't much you can do about it. Either the placenta rises as your pregnancy progresses, or it doesn't. If it doesn't, then you will need a caesarian.
Is placenta privia common? Or do I need to worry? What are some step I can take to help?
My best friend was diagnosed with pp in her early second trimester of her first pregnancy, the doctor told her to refrain from sex until about 6 weeks after delivery - awful wait! Good luck to you!
