Plan B

Will the plan B still work if I took the 2nd pill 9 hrs after I was supposed to?

Most likely it'll be fine. Just so you know though, a lot of times nurses recommend you take both pills at once, instead of spreading it out, even though it says differently on the box.  The real issue is how quickly you got it to begin with -- should be less than 5 days after you had unprotected sex. It works best within 24 hours, a good chance within 3 days.

Be aware than Plan B will probably mess up your cycle. It can take a solid two months to get back to normal. It can also cause exaggerated symptoms that mimic pregnancy (it gave me horrible nausea and bigger girls!), scaring you into thinking maybe it didn't work. It can make you feel pretty darned sick if your body doesn't react well to the massive dose of hormones. There's definitely a reason they call it "emergency contraception." :-)

From what i remember I believe you can take the 2nd pill within 12 hours and it should still work as well as it would have if you popped them together or 12 hours apart. Remember though that plan b is only 85% effective.
