***Please DON'T judge me***

Please don't judge me on this question. As you all know, I had a molar pregnancy in January and had surgery for it. My gynocologist put my on birth control RIGHT AWAY the day after my surgery. I was diagnosed with PCOS last month and she said that if I stay on my birth control, the cysts will eventually disappear. The thing is, is I want a baby really bad because I'm afraid that I will not be able to have a child in the future with me already having one ovary gone. I just want to know if if I go off my birth control, will it be difficult for me to get pregnant and will the cysts keep growing. The only reason why she is keeping me on my birth control is because of my little ovarian cysts but I want a baby reaaally bad... Please don't judge me. It took a lot of guts to write this question...

I dont know why anyone would judge you for wanting a baby...i can say i have PCOS as well and only one working ovary...im now on my 4th pregnancy (1 miscarriage) and all was fine.  As always though talk with your doctor and see what they recommend but as long as you have no cyst at the time of ovulation you should have no problems conceiving.  Good luck!

Thanks cheeky13, that is exactually what my gyno told me too. It's been 7 months since my molar pregnancy and D&C and my HcG level have been at 0 for 3 months. When I went in for my surgery, I too was 4.5 months pregnant and I lost 800mls of blood. The gyno said that I need to stay on birth control for a year just because it was a full molar pregnancy. She said I can go off of it around November though and even if I go off my birth control now, it will take about 2 - 3 months for the hormone from the birth controls to wear off

Maybe you should ask your doctor about other options I've heard a med called metformin (originally for diabetes) works really well with ladies with pcos as it one shrinks the cysts and also helps you lose weight if this is also an issue. no woman should have to wait there's still going to be issues when they decide you can come off the pill so to me it's only prolonging your pain.

A molar pregnancy is rare but it happens. It can b partial molar (when theres a baby with molar part attached to the baby) n theres the whole molar(when its just what they would cal "grapes" cuz thats kinda wat it looks like). I too had a molar pregnancy and now i have a boy n a lil girl n preggo with my third. I too wanted to have a baby really really bad n i was devastated to kno when i had what was known as the molar pregnancy. I misscarried it when i was 4 1/2 months n the next day i got cleaned up n was put on birth control pills. I was told not to stop takin them for a year or i was at a risk for having another molar pregnancy. I wouldnt kno how to explain it to u so u could understand me better but research it online n most importantly ask ur dr. Its some hormone that has to go down before u get pregnant again cuz thats wat can cause a 2nd molar pregnancy. Good luck n try not to get obsessed or think too much bout it cuz itll b harder on u. Best wishes n hopefully really soon ull become a mommy. Its not impossible

I would talk to your dr. Your safety is the MOST important thing to your dr.
No one should judge you. We are all mothers or expecting or TTC. NO question should ever be judged.

one doctor told me a molar pregnancy is a complication when you concieve and the placenta grows but no fetus. Another doctor told me its when there is a complication with the growth of the fetus and it turns into whats called a "bunch of grapes".

What is a molar pregnancy?  I've never had a cyst that big. But all major things like this deserve a 2nd opinion.

people told me that a molar pregnancy is caused by a problem on the males side of the family. When I got pregnant though in October of last year, I had a ovarian cyst the size of a football on my right ovary. Would that of had anything to do with the molar pregnancy?

I have PCOS and I've had 2 successful pregnancies. I had to seek the assistance of a reproductive endocrinologist but nobody said I shouldn't try. But each person is different.

Thank you everybody for your helpful comments. ! :) I will go in on Friday and talk to a doctor and see if there is any chance of me being able to go off my birth control to get pregnant. I get slight pains in my left ovary but i was also experiencing that when I had a grape sized ovarian cyst on my left ovary before it went away. Maybe the pain means that the little cysts are going away :)

Nobody can force you to do anything. I suggest talking to a couple of different doctors to get all of the information that you need. You can then weigh up the risks and make an informed decision. You never know, the doctors may be able to give you other options to consider. Good luck xx

I understand what you are going through dear. I suggest not to take such risky decisions on your own. I suggest pl take a second or a third opinion from a doc for that matter. Evn docs are humans n evn dey can go wrong so pl tak medical advice from docs b4 takin any decision. I wish u get pregnt soon.. My prayers with u... Tc
