Thanks for the info :) I've been researching it online and I read that the test comes with a lot of false positives. I would love my child either way, I just want to make sure it is okay.
It doesn't mean your baby does have it only that it could have it. Something in your blood work come back showing a greater risk than other women your age. I had this happen with the same test (sometimes called the quad screen or AFP test) only mine was positive for Trisomy 18. They told me I had a 1-13 chance of him having it when others my age have a 1-8000 chance. They will give you a special sreening ultrasound to check for abnormalities. If they see anything there they will offer you an amnio to confirm the findings & give you the option to terminate. Just so you know even though my test was positive & my chances were very high, my baby doesn't have it. :) The test was wrong.
Its just that your baby is at risk. They will do an extensive ultrasound and check your baby to make sure everything is okay.
