When you ovulate the ovum (egg) bursts from the ovary leaving behind a follicle that becomes a cyst. This is called the luteal cyst. It is normal and always present after ovulation. If you become pregnant this cyst gives off Progesterone, not hCG, to help sustain your pregnancy.
You could be early pregnant or have had a miscarriage. The only way to know is to get checked out again. Getting another blood test to see if your hCG levels rise is a good indicator that you may still have a viable pregnancy.
In my opinion, if your first ultrasound she didn't see anything, then this one she did see something but says it's not developing, that means it had developed enough from the first to the second enough to see it. Sorry if that's confusing, but to me that's pretty promising.
Hi Baby edgar, thanks for your reply, it gives me hope, i was with my doctor todar and she said she doesnt like what she saw. She said she thinks it will not develop and the chance to survive is just 1%. Im weeping and crying coz 1 % is nothing. But upon reading your message it helps me a lot. She took me another blood to see if my hcg is rising up, if not she said she has to clean me up. I am waiting for the result too but me and my husband decided to look for a second opinion. I will see another doctor tomorrow and see. i am really hoping that I am just early. She said she cant say if I had miscarriage already coz the symptoms of pregnancy still there. My breast is till so swollen and tender, and feel dizzy all time. But she said she saw something but she said it wasnt good. She said the test is not false positive coz she saw something but its not developing. I just live it to God for now. I can only wait and keep on praying.
I would say you might only be very early in the pregnancy. I went for my first ultrasound when i should have been 6 weeks and they could find nothing. I was told to come back in 2 weeks time and they found the baby measuring at 6 weeks and 4 days. (When i should have been 8 weeks by this stage) it turns out i ovulated later then i thought and thats why they couldnt see anything in the first ultrasound.
I would wait for the second scan before getting too worried.
Good luck!
thanks a lot for your reply, tomorrow is my doctors appointment for another ultrasound. I cant wait for this but I am scared of the result. Waiting time is killing me.... will post again what the doctor said...
You could be pregnant, im not sure if a cyst would make ur hormone level rise but ive never had one. You would only be very early on and its normal to not see anything at thispoint of the pregnancy it could still be to early next week. I hope u r having ur little baby good luck!
