Progesterine Levels Checked??

I went to the Dr. today because what little pregnancy symptoms I've had went away and am in my 5th week. He ordered bloodwork and I saw on the slip that he wanted my Progesterine checked- does anyone know what he can tell from that?

Progesterone is used to support a pregnancy,until the placenta takes over generally at 10th week,if progesterone level decreases,a mc is possible.but dont panic,it is possible to loose your symptoms and get them later.good luck.
